forensic building investigation

Water intrusion has become a major concern across the nation, and certainly in the Pacific Northwest. Working with Homeowner Associations and their attorneys, Construction Decisions, Inc. has completed numerous intrusive and non-intrusive forensic investigations of properties where water intrusion is suspected or readily evident. The investigation in the field typically lasts from two to three days.

Photographic evidence and other data, including moisture meter readings and the collection of suspected mold samples are typical. Thermal cameras are used to “see” through walls in the search for potential latent moisture within the structure. Samples of potential mold are sent to a laboratory for confirmation.

The evidence gathered at the site and in the findings of the laboratory are compiled in a comprehensive inspection report. The report describes conditions uncovered and explains the recommended corrective action.

The Principals of Construction Decisions, Inc. are experienced in expert witness testimony, and their inspection reports have been instrumental in securing large settlements in favor of Homeowner Associations.
